Music
At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City, music is more than an art form or a source of entertainment. It's a ministry of its own. Our musicians are proud to be able to provide music, and musical opportunities that reflect our church's values for our worship services. We also minister directly to our members and to the community at large with concerts, music training classes, open mic events, and other experiences. No matter your musical abilities, we are confident there's a place for you in our music program.
The UU Studio City Choir
Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 7 - 9pm in the Sanctuary
Our church choir rehearses on weekday evenings and provides music for worship services on 3 to 5 Sundays per month. We are a choir of mixed voices and sing most of our music in four-part harmony, featuring various genres from pop to classical. We also prepare concerts of our own to share with our community. We are always accepting new members. For more information, or to get involved, click here.
UU2
UU2 is our two-piece worship band, featuring the talents of Gene Herd on drums, and Nick Pierone on keys, bass, and voice. Catch one of our unforgettable improvisations, arresting closing songs, or heart pumping choral collaborations during worship!
Jazzanova - Music Mends Minds
Wednesdays, 1:30 - 3:30pm in the Sanctuary
Jazzanova brings together volunteer jazz musicians to have fun playing music and to create a healing environment for persons dealing with memory loss and other mental conditions. Drop-in listeners and performers are always welcome.
ORIM - Our Religion is Music
Saturdays at 2pm in the Sanctuary
"ORIM" is a community choir affiliated with our church. ORIM rehearses at the church every Saturday at 2pm and presents two or three concerts per year. The Director is Anthony Concepcion.
The Music Committee
The Music Committee assists our Music and Technology Directory in his role of presenting beautiful music during the weekly Sunday church services. They also are involved with the planning and presentation of a variety of church events for fun, fundraising, or a combination of both. The Music Committee meets monthly to discuss upcoming and past musical events.
