As our half-time contract minister, Rev. Megan is chiefly involved in our
congregation’s worship life, staff leadership, and collaboration with our Board
and leaders to serve our community of faith joyfully from the heart of Studio City.
She looks forward to connecting with you in-person or by e-mail.
Rev. Megan is our minister at UUCSC and has served in Unitarian Universalist religious
leadership for almost 20 years. In 2009, she received a Master of Arts in Ethics and
Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union (GTU, Berkeley, California) and
then, taught and advised seminarians at Starr King School for the Ministry for 10 years.
After two years of doctoral study in ethics and Women’s Studies in Religion, she joined
the PhD program in sociology at the University of California San Francisco to become a
researcher focused on spiritual care, health equity and chronic illness. Along the way of
teaching and studying, she found her call to ordained ministry; she completed a parish
internship in small/large church ministry at First UU Church of San Diego and
chaplaincy training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She obtained
fellowship as a UU minister in 2018 and was ordained in Beverly, Massachusetts in
2019. When she is not at UUCSC, Rev. Megan is supporting and leading research
teams focused on psychosocial well-being, spiritual coping and pediatric diabetes at
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She lives in Eagle Rock with her wife Stefanie and
their two cats, Maui and Salem.
