Our July selection is The Dallergut Dream Department Store: A Novel, by Lee Miye. According to Goodreads: "A captivating story that will leave a lingering magical feeling in readers’ minds, this is the first book in a bestselling duology for anyone exhausted from the reality of their daily life."
We now have more than 20 participants who share their reactions to a variety of books written by women. And the snacks are always great! For more information, contact Chris Kirchner,

Drop-In Program Hosts Special Picnic
On Tuesday, June 2, volunteers at the UUCSC Drop-In Access Center served a picnic lunch to more than 50 guests. The menu featured hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, green salad, chips, watermelon, and brownies, along with refreshing lemonade. The meal was a welcome change of pace from our usual offerings, and our guests were both delighted and appreciative. Thank you from Reid Swanson to everyone who supports the Drop-In Program and helps us extend hospitality and care to members of our community.
Have a Voice: Vote by Pam and Ryan Geller
On June 2, my son Ryan and I voted in the California Statewide Primary Election. As you know, it was a lengthy ballot that included numerous state and local races, judgeships, and ballot measures. One of the most surprising items on the ballot was the race for Governor of California, which featured an astonishing 61 candidates. We took the time to review each of the candidates and ballot measures before completing our ballots. Participating in the electoral process is an important way to have a voice in the decisions that affect our communities, state, and future, and we were pleased to do our part on Election Day.
