Hi UU Parents,
As you know, I am what's called an INTERIM Director of Religious Education (DRE). Eventually our church will be hiring a permanent DRE. In fact we have a search committee working on putting together a formal DRE job description right now! Don't worry, I will be sticking with you until we find someone absolutely perfect for the job! In fact one of the things I've been working towards is getting a more organized system for someone else to step into. We are almost there!
You might not know that the DRE job is actually a paid position and it requires about 20 hours of work per week. If you think you might be interested in becoming DRE or you know someone who would make an excellent DRE please email me: DRE@uustudiocity.org Let's get a conversation going about what is involved and what our church community is hoping to manifest. Tera Little, one of my favorite people from the UUA Pacific Southwest District (of which we are a part) has offered to come and give a little workshop on being a DRE to people who think they might be interested.
