President’s Report
Super Tuesday and the Super Bowl all in one week! And while the big game was definitely one of the most exciting ever, its significance really pales in the face of what the primary voting means to all of us. I hope everyone participated, and if you didn’t, by all means don’t miss the vote in November. The choice of a candidate who most closely represent the beliefs, ideals, values and ethics of our membership at UUCSC (and UUs everywhere for that matter) couldn’t be more important this time around. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
Our own Super February Congregational Meeting will be arriving on the 24th, and your participation in that nomination and election process is vital to the health of this congregation. We all know that getting involved is the foundation of a successful operation for us, and while some have already offered to serve in the various open positions, nominations will also be taken from the floor during that meeting. Voting on the eventual candidates is a show of support that is of course really important to those willing to put in the time and effort on behalf of the congregation, so make it a point to attend!
Several proposals have been submitted to the newly formed Endowment Distribution Committee, and the members of that committee have been working overtime to help gather pertinent data so that an informed decision can be made and submitted to the board for eventual presentation to the congregation. This is the first application of the new rules of engagement in possible available Endowment Fund distributions, and since the timeline is off due to the date of the By Law amendment approval, we may even call a special congregational meeting (with the usual eighteen day notice) if projects are ready for presentation.
