Volunteering at UUCSC
Volunteering at UUCSC is one of the best ways to feel a part of the wonderful spirit of our church. Many of the tasks that support the work of the church are the result of volunteers. It’s a great way to get to know people and feel you are contributing to the life of the church.
Some people volunteer on a regular basis for tasks that need to be done. Others volunteer for one time only events or tasks. What kinds of things do people do?
- Work in the community garden or help with building and grounds special projects
- Help with social events—setting up tables, preparing food, cleaning the kitchen, providing entertainment, helping with publicity
- Serve on committees and teams such as-
- Social justice
- Community garden
- Building and grounds
- Pastoral care
- Fun and fellowship
- Music and choir
- Board of Trustees
- Religious Exploration
- Take care of regular tasks such as counting money, setting up the altar on Sundays, taking care of the kitchen, making coffee for Sunday mornings, ushering, singing in the choir, teaching RE classes for children and adults, helping in the office, and a lot of other tasks that make such a difference for our church.
